In conjunction with Iowa State University’s Live Green Initiative, the Director of Sustainability is hiring five intern positions focused on increasing social media presence, creating monthly newsletters and planning sustainability events throughout the year. Social Media Engagement Intern Position

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee social marketing platforms for the Live Green! Initiative and Office of Sustainability, including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and WordPress.
  • Develop social media campaigns, in collaboration with the Campus and Community Events Team and the Marketing and Communications Team focused an increasing online engagement and connection to Live Green! events, publications and resources.
  • Create monthly WordPress posts highlighting Office of Sustainability initiatives, events and projects.
  • Maintain a consistent and vibrant social media presence for the Live Green! Initiative through all social marketing platforms.

Marketing and Communication Intern Positions

Position Responsibilities:

  • Completion of seven, Live Green! Monthly newsletters – including writing (AP style), design, layout and digital document accessibility;
  • Provide content for social marketing through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WordPress, etc. – in collaboration with the Social Media Engagement Intern; and
  • Collaborate on event publicity – in collaboration with the Campus and Community Engagement Interns.

Campus and Community Engagement Intern Positions

Position Responsibilities:

  • Complete event publicity, planning, and implementation for campus sustainability and Live Green! events including Sustainapalooza, Campus Sustainability Month Celebration and Earth Day;
  • Oversee event social marketing through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WordPress, etc. – in coordination with the Social Media Engagement Intern;
  • Serve as a Live Green! liaison for student engagement;
  • Meet with various student, campus, and community organizations to increase awareness and identify involvement opportunities related to sustainability and living green; and
  • Collaborate on marketing and educational materials design, development, and dissemination (press releases, flyers, brochures, etc. - in coordination with the Marketing and Communications Interns).
